stupid

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID.

STUPID.

MOUSES!

This is so stupid.

I know, I know...  I know what you're thinkin'.  You're thinkin', somethin' has gotten Seville the Cat all riled up.  Somethin' has gotten his knickers in a twist.  SOMETHIN' has made Seville the Cat put on a pair of knickers, just so he could twist 'em.

And you know what?

What you're thinkin' is exactly right.

MOUSES!

It all started early this mornin' when Peep #1 fired up the ol' computer for me, so that I could check my social media and stuff, then do the finishin' touches on Part I of my new adventure.

That's right!  My adventure is all set...

Scratch that.

My new adventure WAS all set to air today.

But then the stupid stuff happened.

MOUSES!

Well the peep fired up the ol' computer and I went straight to my fan page on Facebook.

Scratch that.

The peep fired up the ol' computer and I TRIED to go straight to my fan page on Facebook.

BUT FACEBOOK WOULDN'T LET ME LOG IN.

MOUSES!

I tried and I tried and I tried.  I tried like five million and twenty-nine times.

SERIOUSLY, I did.

Okay, so maybe I didn't.  Maybe it was only like five million and twenty-eight times, I tried.  But however many times it actually was, it was a really lot of times.

And it was all to no avail.

*sighs*

So then I got the peep to access her timeline, and do you know what?

SHE COULDN'T LOG IN, EITHER.

MOUSES!

We can't even report the problem to Facebook, 'cause in order to report a problem, YOU'VE GOTTA BE ON FACEBOOK TO REPORT IT.

How so very stupid.

MOUSES!

So we reported it to 'em on Twitter, instead.

Haven't heard anythin' back yet, though.

*sighs*

FINALLY, I said to myself, "SCREW THIS!  Today is publishin' day.  I need to finish up the editin' of Part 1 of my latest adventure, and then the peep needs to piZap me up some pictures, so that I can publish."

Well...

Well it turns out, we can't log into piZap, either.

MOUSES!

At least we can't get into our professional account with the added little extras.  You know the ones.  The little extras that makin' peein' and zappin' easier, and makes the pictures so much more fun.

AND I CAN'T HAVE AN ADVENTURE WITHOUT PICTURES.

MOUSES!

We think we used to access our piZap account through Facebook.

MOUSES!

So long story short....

Yeah, yeah, I know...   Kinda late for makin' this short, but...

But anyway, that's why I'm not startin' my adventure today.  THAT'S why, instead, I'm just postin' this stupid post 'bout how stupid Facebook is bein' all stupid and stuff.  THAT'S why I'm takin' this moment to just sit here and complain about things that are stupid.

Hmmph!

So that's how my day went today.  How was yours?

MOUSES!

too much to ask?

Let me tell you somethin', my friends.  Peeps can be such...

Such...

SUCH...

Well...

PEEPS.

MOUSES!

Why just the other day, there I was, sittin' on the bed, mindin' my own business, doin' a little washin', when out of nowhere came along one of those darned peeps.

FYI, it was Peep #1, but truth be told, both of my peeps have been guilty - NUMEROUS TIMES - of bein' peeps.  Not to mention bein' guilty of doin' peep-like things.

MOUSES!

And "MOUSES!" is exactly what I said.  And I said it with the loudest, most annoyed voice I could possibly muster.  'Cause like it or not, at that moment, my annoyance was most definitely what Peep #1 deserved to hear.

MOUSES!

Is it too much for a kitty to ask, to have a little privacy while said kitty is doin' his washin'?

Apparently, it is.

MOUSES!

You know, we cats start invadin' the privacy of peeps while they're doin' THEIR washin', and we never hear the end of it.

Okay, so truth be told, Peep #1 doesn't really mind my invadin' her privacy while she's doin' a little laundry down in the laundry room.  But laundry is a different kind of washin', for sure.  If we invade their privacy while they're in the shower...

MOUSES!

Yeah, that's just what peeps say when we cats invade their privacy while they're in the shower.

Believe, I know.

And don't even get me started 'bout what they say if they're usin' the litter box.

MOUSES!

But does that stop them from invadin' OUR privacy while WE'RE usin' the litter box?

The answer to that, my friends, would be a resounding no.  In fact, peeps are known to lurk around the litter boxes of cats, waitin', and watchin', like the snoopy peeps they are, until we finish doin' our litter box business.

Why peeps have this fascination with cats' litter boxes, I will never know, but like it or not, they do.

MOUSES!

Why, peeps have even been known to TAKE PICTURES of us cats while we're usin' the box.

Pictures!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

MOUSES!

Do we cats take pictures of them, while they're doin' THEIR litter box business?

Not on your life.

Actually, postin' pictures of peeps usin' a litter box can get a kitty banned from a number of social media sites.

Not that I've ever done it myself.

It's just somethin' I've heard.

From the friend of a friend of a friend.

Or somethin' like that.

MOUSES!

You know, you'd think those social media sites would get on the ball, and start disciplining PEEPS, takin' pictures of cats doin' their litter box business, but OH NO...

Oh no, we couldn't have that.

And I suppose they do have their reasons.  Those social media site people probably know that if you take away all the pictures of cats on the Internet.

THERE'D BE ABSOLUTELY  NOTHIN' LEFT.

they've GOT to be kiddin'

They've got to be kiddin'.

There's NO WAY this can be true.

This has gotta be FAKE news, for sure. MOUSES!

Uh-huh.  Yeah.  Uh...  Ummm...  Eh?

Well I'll be...

MOUSES!

Accordin' to all my many sources, this comin' Saturday is...

Wait for it...

World Naked Gardenin' Day.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

MOUSES!

I'm tellin' ya, as if peeps don't get into enough trouble already, now they have a World Naked Gardenin' Day.  A day for gardenin', naked?  A day for gettin' naked, and gardenin'?  A DAY FOR...

MOUSES!

What WILL they think of next.

Or maybe...  Maybe the problem is, they're not actually thinkin' at all.

Typical peep behaviour, for sure.  MOUSES!

You know, once, way back when, I accidentally walked into the bathroom when a peep was steppin' into the shower and let me tell you, my friends...

...THERE ARE SOME THINGS A KITTY CAN NEVER UNSEE.

It's 'cause of stuff like this that bathroom doors have locks.  And believe-you-me, locks on bathrooms doors are meant to be used, for sure.

It's bad enough that a kitty has to be careful when walkin' into a bathroom, but now a kitty has to watch out for naked peeps out in the garden, too?

When will the craziness end?  MOUSES!

And I have a question.  Will all those naked peeps runnin' around neighbourhood gardens in all their nakedness, remember to wear their sunscreen. 'Cause seriously, my friends, if not, they could be gettin' sunburns in places where normally, the sun just isn't supposed to shine.

And how 'bout straw hats?  Are they allowed to wear those?  You know, to protect themselves from gettin' wrinkles on their faces and stuff, although truth be told, there isn't a straw hat big enough to protect 'em from gettin' wrinkles...  You know...  Elsewhere. MOUSES!

Hehehehehee...

I just thought of somethin'.  If the first Saturday of May is World Naked Gardening Day, is the first Sunday in May, World Poison Ivy Treatment Day?  'Cause I'm thinkin' there will be more than a few peeps in need of a full body treatment, for sure.

And what about poison oak?

AND THEN THERE ARE NETTLES.

You know, once, way back when, before I was even born, Peep #1 ran through a patch of raspberry canes with her shorts on.

Yeah, stupid, I know.  But what do you expect from a peep?

But my point is, at least she was wearin' SOMETHIN'.  Imagine runnin' through a patch of raspberry canes with nothin' on at all?

MOUSES!

And what if a bird flyin' overhead decides to... You know...  Do what birds so often do?  The peeps won't have any protection at all.

And what if it rains?  Are umbrellas allowed?  Of course, gardenin' while holdin' an umbrella is not the easiest of things to do in the first place.  I would imagine that naked gardenin' while holdin' an umbrella is even harder to do.

I just thought of somethin'.

WILL THERE BE NAKED GARDENING TOURS?

And I thought squirrels were crazy.  Clearly, the peeps have out-squirrelled the squirrelliness of the squirrelliest of squirrels, for sure.

MOUSES!

Makes a kitty wonder why all the peeps in the world haven't all been locked up by now.  You know, for their own good.  To protect 'em from themselves and stuff.  Stuff like sunburns and poison ivy and poison oak.

BUT OH NO...  Peeps have got to be a allowed to be peeps, and lettin' them loose on the world is all part of their bein'...  You know...  PEEPS.

It's like peeps think they are cats or somethin'.  Just 'cause a cat can walk around in the garden wearin' nothin' but his natural furs, doesn't mean peeps can do so, too.  I mean, a cat can look at a queen.  Peeps stare too hard at the Queen and they might be gettin' a visit from the Royal Guard. MOUSES!

But back to this naked gardenin' business at paw.

Listen up all you peeps out there. DON'T YOU COME CRYIN' TO ME ON SUNDAY WHEN YOU'RE COVERED IN POISON OAK AND HAVE A SUNBURN IN PLACES WHERE THE SUN SIMPLY ISN'T SUPPOSED TO SHINE.  MOUSES!

               ***********************

And in other news...

Reports are comin' in from all four corners of the world.  Cats have been buying RECORD NUMBERS of flashy boxes, smart phones and other recording devices, preparing to take pictures of sunburned, poison ivy stricken peeps.

pictures, shmictures

Pictures.  Pictures, shmictures. MOUSES!

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what are a thousand pictures worth?  A million?

And what if those pictures happen to be of the back of your head?  Or of the tip of your tail?  Or of the imprint left in the dirt after you've walked away 'cause the peep took too long to focus the camera?

Or how 'bout if the picture is of the shadow of the peep herself, tryin' to take your picture when she thought you weren't lookin', but was clearly mistaken, 'cause you really were lookin', knew there was a peep on the prowl with a flashy box in her paws, and made your escape while the goin' was good?  I really can't see anyone payin' a million OF ANYTHING for a picture like that.  MOUSES!

At least in this day and age, peeps don't have to worry 'bout putting film in their cameras.  And yet, they still mess up.  MOUSES!

Needless to say, we're havin' some difficulties on the picture taking front at my house.

Peep #1 was all set to take some really nice pictures of me for a special blog post, where I was gonna thank Nellie for the lovely stuffy and pin she sent.  But as you've probably guessed, the peep is still workin' on those pictures.

Pictures that are not of the back of my head.  Or the tip of my tail.  And where the flash actually went off so I'm more than just a shadowy blur and...  Well...  Well MOUSES!

But speakin' of pictures, you ever see those pictures of ink blots they use in those ink blot test thingies?

Apparently, with these ink blot tests, different cats will see different things.  It's true!  You can show a bunch of cats the very same ink blot and they all interpret it in different ways.  One cat might see a butterfly, another cat might see a squished mosquito, another one might see a squished mosquito next to his equally squished cousin Guido, and another one might see a vase with some flowers and so on and so on and so on.

And then you ask your peep and what does she see?

Let's just say, Peep #1 is not the most imaginative of peeps and we'll leave it at that.

But if really wanna know, Peep #1 saw nothing but a blot of ink.  MOUSES!

And she's wondering 'bout who names a mosquito, Guido.

I have to admit, I was kinda wondering 'bout that too.  MOUSES!

And then there are those pictures they call, diagrams.

Peep #1 recently bought a tumbling composter thingy for the garden 'cause the one we have is kinda broken.  Not broken as in it doesn't tumble anymore.  It never tumbled.  Nope, tumbling was a thing it never did.  It was never meant to tumble at all.  It was only meant to be a place where the peeps could put the stuff for composting.  But it's really old now and kinda fallin' apart.

What does this have to do with pictures called diagrams, you ask?

Good question!

Thing is, the tumbling composter is still in its box, sitting in my office, and judging by the box in which it's sitting, I'm thinking it's gonna need to be put together.  Yup, the box is too small for there to be a ready-to-use composter in there.  I'm pretty sure the peep is gonna need to put it together and that, of course, means the box also likely contains a diagram.

Now the problem with these diagram thingies is... Well...

Well perhaps the problem is not with the actual diagrams but rather, with my peep.  MOUSES!

I was chattin' with my pal Austin the other day, and I was reminded how when Peep #1 puts things together using diagrams, quite often, there are pieces left over.

Oh sure, they're just little pieces.  A screw here.  A nut there.  A bolt or two, perhaps.  Nothing big. They're what the peep calls, the extras.  MOUSES!

Never once have I ever seen a box where under the contents it listed, "Extras."

But the peep wouldn't know 'bout that because the peep never reads the list of contents on the outside of the box.  Just like she never reads the instructions inside the box.  If we're lucky, she might glance at the accompanying diagram.  In all honestly, she just puts whatever it is together as she sees fit, and then hides away those leftover parts she calls, the extras.

Peep #1 has a whole drawer FULL of extras.  MOUSES!

I'm thinkin' that this lack of reading instructions on Peep #1's part might, in fact, be the reason for her havin' an Extras Drawer, in the first place.  MOUSES!

Of course, the stuff the peep puts together doesn't always stay together.

Perhaps that bolt was necessary?  Maybe that nail was needed?  Could it be that that screw really was meant to be used after all?

Peep #1 brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "a screw loose," to be sure.  MOUSES!

And even if what the peep puts together does, in fact, stay together, there's no guarantee it's gonna work.

At least not work like it was meant to work.  Like if all the bits and pieces were used and...  stuff.

But little trifles like that don't bother my peep.  No sirree.  To her, this is all part of what makes life interestin'.  MOUSES!

So I'm thinkin'...  I'm thinkin' there's a good chance that once the peep puts together the tumbling composter thingy, that the composter thingy won't actually compost and even if it does compost, it most definitely won't tumble.  At least not more than once.  You know, when it tumbles to the ground on account of a leg not bein' properly attached or a flap not screwed in or...  whatever.

And I'm thinkin' that odds are, the peep's Extras Drawer will be a little fuller after the peep puts together the tumbling composter that doesn't tumble more than once, than it was before.

But I'm also thinkin', at least I'm gettin' a new box!  I mean, she doesn't have to put the box together or anything so she can't really screw that part up, right?  RIGHT?

And maybe...  Possibly...  There just might even be a slim to almost good chance of the peep getting a picture of me inside my new box, snuggled up to that stuffy I was tellin' you about.  The stuffy from my pal, Nellie.  And a picture like that would be worth at least a thousand words, to be sure.  MOUSES!
