sixty-seven weeks

Hey Peepers...

HEY PEEPERS!

PEEPERS!!!

Oh good, you're up.

MOUSES!

So now that you're awake, you wanna get up and feed me?  Saffron, too, if she's out on the veranda, waitin'.

Well OF COURSE I know what time it is.  It's time to get up.

MOUSES!

Boy-oh-boy, some peeps, huh?

MOUSES!

The thing is, it's been pretty hot here in Nova Scotia the last few days and today is gonna be another scorcher, for sure.  And those of us with fur coats...  Well we're just not built for this heat, you know?  Especially when said heat is accompanied by high humidity.

So I was thinkin'...

So I was thinkin', if Peepers were to start gettin' up at the crack of dawn - or earlier...

GET YOUR TAIL OUTTA THAT BED AND STOP ASKIN' ME IF I KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS, PEEPERS!  I ALREADY TOLD YOU I knew the time.  It's five-thirty in the mornin' which means, IT'S TIME TO GET UP, for sure.

MOUSES!

So as I was sayin', before bein' so rudely interrupted, if Peepers were to start gettin' up with the sun, she and I could get some stuff done before the humidity sets in and the temperature rises.  I think that's a perfectly logical plan.  Up at five-thirty or so, eat, nip, play, and repeat.  Then find the coolest spot possible and sleep the afternoon away.  It's an absolutely brilliant plan, if I say so myself.

PEEPERS, IF YOU'RE THINKING 'BOUT GOIN' FOR A WALK TODAY, YOU'RE GONNA WANNA DO IT ASAP BEFORE IT GETS HOT, SO GET OUTTA THAT BED, YOU LAZY OL' PEEP!

And remember, Peepers, you've got stuff to do for Saffron and me before you can even THINK 'bout takin' that walk, SO IT'S TIME TO GET UP, NOW.

It's kinda hard to believe, isn't it.  Kinda hard to believe that even though I've been stuck here with these useless peeps on my paws for three hundred and sixty-four million, six hundred and ninety-four thousand, four hundred cat seconds, which has been extremely tryin' for me, for sure...  Even though I've had these peeps on my paws twenty-four seven, for sixty-seven weeks, I'm still able to come up with a plan as brilliant as this.

GET UP OUTTA THAT BED, NOW!

Only problem I can foresee is the difficulty in gettin' Peepers to actually get outta bed after I wake her up.  This is takin' way too long, for sure.

Hmmm...

GOT IT!

Tomorrow mornin' I'll wake her up an hour early.  Four-thirty should do.  That gives me a whole sixty minutes - ie thirty-two thousand, four hundred cat seconds - to get her to get her sorry tailless butt outta that stupid ol' bed by sunrise.

I'm so smart.

MOUSES!

And remember:

IF IN DOUBT,

DON'T. GO. OUT.

Continue to practice SOCIAL DISTANCIN' measures

AND KEEP WASHIN' YOUR PAWS.

MOUSES!

Remember to mask up, too.

  1. I think you've got the plan Seville! The peeps here have to walk mighty early too or the hots are no fun!

  2. For some reason, peeps don't like waking up early, Sivvers. Even when it makes perfect cat sense. MOUSES!

  3. I like your plan Seville. The early bird gets the worm. I'm not sure how that's a perk, unless your a bird. Peep=bird? No, I don't think Peepers is a bird. You'll just have to start convincing her to get up at 4:30 so you can eat breakfast before it gets too hot.
