Peepers, did we not have this discussion before?
Well?
WELL?
WELL, DID WE, PEEPERS? DID WE?
Nothin' but crickets.
MOUSES!
So she's gone and done it again, folks. Yup, you heard me correctly, she's...
Now, when I say heard, I actually mean read - you know, on account of this bein' a blog and not some radio show. But you get the picture, I am sure.
MOUSES!
Yes, you heard me correctly. The peep has gone and done it again.
Of course.
MOUSES!
I know, I know... I know what you're thinkin'. You're thinkin', just WHAT has ol' Peepers done this time?
Well!
Well, she's only gone and promised me somethin', only to be fulfillin' said promise ON THE CHEAP.
AGAIN.
MOUSES!
That's right, my dear friends. That's right! Peepers promised to knit me another blankie, on account of my needin' another blankie, on account of autumn approachin', when the weather is cooler, and...
No, I don't actually go under my blankies to keep warm. I like to lie on top of my blankies 'cause on top of blankies is cushiony soft, and...
Yeah, yeah... Yeah, I know I mentioned the cooler weather autumn would bring, but that's not the point. The point is, blankies and cool weather naturally go paw in paw, and..
MOUSES!
The thing is, the last time Peepers knit me a blankie, instead of pickin' out beautiful, soft yarns in pretty mancat colours, she made me a blankie usin' scraps. That's right, scraps. SCRAPS! Leftovers, I tell you. Leftovers! Leftover yarns from various projects for which she had purchased yarn ESPECIALLY to use 'cause she thinks HER projects are so special.
Well!
Well, the last time she knit me a blankie out of many coloured scraps, I was suitably outraged, to be sure.
I even made her PROMISE to never do anythin' so insultin' again.
MOUSES!
And to appease me, she said she'd knit me another one.
Well!
WELL!
WELL, DO ANY OF YOU KITTIES OUT THERE KNOW WHAT THE WORD APPEASE MEANS?
DO YOU?
Apparently, at the time, I did not.
MOUSES!
So there I was, thinkin' ol' Peepers was plannin' on knittin' me another blankie to make up for her havin' previously made me one out of scraps. THIS time, knittin' it out of extra-special, beautiful yarn, chosen especially for me.
When in reality...
When in reality...
When in reality, she was actually promisin' to knit me another blankie, AGAIN OUT OF SCRAPS.
I'm tellin' you, if she wasn't my workin' can opener, I'd be givin' her the boot, to be sure.
If I wore boots, that is.
Which I don't.
MOUSES!
So there you have it, my friends. There you have it! Ol' Peepers has gone and done it again.
I'm gonna remember this the next time she's beggin' for cuddles.
MOUSES!
Leftovers, that just ain't right Seville!
ReplyDeleteYou bet your temptations it isn't right. Not that I'd ever bet mine. I mean, what if I were to lose ??? purrs
DeleteWell, is it at least warm, Sivvers? And maybe instead of "appease," she meant "a piece." As in a piece of this, and a piece of that?
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's warm, yet. She's only on colour number three. A piece instead of appease, huh? Hmm... A piece of Spring Green, a piece of Succulent... Well, if that's the case, she's now on a piece of Juniper, I think. MOUSES!
DeleteWe just don't have any words for this travesty, Seville.
ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth, neither do I. I'm just sayin' "MOUSES!" a whole lot. MOUSES!!!
DeleteA new blankie from more scraps sounds like a cop out to us. She may just be washing that old scrap blankie to make you think it is a new one. How much yarn could it take to make you a new, all your own, soft and cozy blankie? Our mom says she has some nice yarn she can send you Seville. You just let us know. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
ReplyDeleteThat's what I said! I mean, if you're gonna make me a blankie, make it right. Make it in a colour of MY choosin'. Let ME order the yarn. Scraps. SCRAPS! All I get are scraps. MOUSES!
Deletedood…knot onlee R scrapz…total lee scrappee….and knot onlee iz bee in
ReplyDeleteabe bull ta pick YUR colorz de rite thing ta due…but peepers best bee gettin ta werk on that blankit like pron toe… coz it could….could….be snowin two morrow πΈπππͺ️‼️πΎπππ
Considerin' that it was 8C yesterday mornin', you're right. Winter could soon be upon us. And it's only September! MOUSES!
DeleteShe really should ask you what colour you want the blankie and then just buy more yarn. What colour DO you want, Seville?
ReplyDeleteWell.. Well, to be honest... To be honest, I do kinda like the green yarns she picked out. But there are four. AND I KNOW they were leftover scraps. If I were to choose, I would choose the Succulent green. It's a soft shade that goes well with my marmalade furs. BUT THE WHOLE BLANKIE should be made with NEW wool. Yarn. You know what I mean. PURRS
DeleteIt sounds like she made you a calico blanket. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my mouses... She did! Again, I must say, MOUSES!
