I'm tellin' ya, my friends, it has a life all of its own.
MOUSES!
Pardon me?
Oh yeah, I probably SHOULD have elaborated upon that.
So anyway...
So anyway, that ol' brother of mine - Saffy Saffron Sassifras - has a tail that appears to have a life all of its own.
It's true! It doesn't matter if he's happy or sad. Or angry or... Or anythin' else a kitty might be. It doesn't matter about any of that. Whatever Saffy is feelin' - whether good, bad, or indifferent - Saffy's tail can usually be found in a perpetual state of motion.
It even moves when he's asleep.
FACT.
MOUSES!
Now I'm not sayin' his tail swishes back and forth as far as a kitty's tail can swi...
Okay, so sometimes it DOES swish back and forth as far as a kitty's tail can swish. From right to left and back to right again. And no, it does NOT mean he's angry. It just means...
Oh how the mouses am I supposed to know what it means. Like I said, that tail of his has a life all of its own. For all I know, Saffy's tail might think it belongs to a dog and needs to be constantly waggin'.
MOUSES!
And sometimes it's just the tip of his tail that's movin'. Back and forth, and back again. This way and that. That way and... This? Well, you know, like the pendulum of a clock.
'Cept it's a tail.
Plus, Saffy's not a clock.
I don't think.
Although he does always know when it's time to have din-dins.
MOUSES!
SOMETIMES...
Okay, most often, really, the tip-of-the-tail kinda swishin' occurs in his sleep.
Some cats snore, other cats swish.
Or somethin' like that.
MOUSES!
If Peepers interferes like the meddlin' interferin' peep she can be, and puts her hand on the middle of Saffron's tail, holdin' the middle part still, the tip just keeps on swishin'. But get this: if she interferes and puts her hand on the tip of the tail, the body of the tail tries to swish.
Which I must admit, looks pretty darn funny.
MOUSES!
Don't worry, she doesn't do that very often. Only once in a blue moon or so. And it actually doesn't seem to bother Saffron at all.
Truth be told, he's been known to sleep right through it.
The holdin' of the tail, that is.
Like I said, it just keeps on swishin'.
MOUSES!
So my question is this, my friends: do you all have tails that have lives all of their own? Or are your tails, your tails, and completely under YOUR control.
Like mine is. My tail, that is. My tail is most definitely, completely under MY control.
I think.
MOUSES!

And remember:
IF IN DOUBT,
DON'T. GO. OUT.
Continue to practice SOCIAL DISTANCIN' measures
AND KEEP WASHIN' YOUR PAWS.
MOUSES!
Remember to mask up, too.
Remember to mask up, too.
Yep, the tail always does what the tail wants to do!
ReplyDeleteYup, the heart wants what the heart wants. And so does the tail! MOUSES!
DeleteThat is a sign on a content and happy cat.
ReplyDeleteWell he certainly does have lots of reasons to be happy and content. PURRS
DeleteSivvers, our Ava has a tail sort of like Saffron's. If I hold the tip, the body of it does move. But unlike Saffy's tail, Ava's rests when she is at rest.
ReplyDeleteInterestin'... Sort of a hybrid Saffy tail, then. PURRS
DeleteBwahwahwahwa! Pipo must have thought that about his tail, too, because he often was found trying to subdue it, without much success...he would end up rolling on the floor. MOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat about your tail, Sevvy?? Our Dalton's tail is too short to do much other than wag...and Benji's tail is mostly curled up, except when he runs, then it's straight out behind him.
My tail is very well disciplined and by that I mean, if it acts up, I give it some discipline. MOUSES!
DeleteMy tail is entirely under my control. Or at least that's what it last told me at its performance review ....
ReplyDeleteToodle pips and purrs
ERin
You give your tail performance reviews? That's pretty intense. MOUSES!
DeleteWow a swishy tail my tail is like yours Seville belongs to me.x😽🐈⬛
ReplyDeleteYup, all tails are different, I guess. Some are like yours and mine and then.. And then there is Saffy's. MOUSES
DeleteMY tail is more normal I guess, and doesn't cause me undue concern. UNLESS Mom is still brushing when I am soooo over it.
ReplyDeleteOh I get that, for sure. Peeps need to learn limits. When you're done with the combin', you're DONE WITH THE COMBIN'. Peeps need to learn that, for sure. PURRS
DeletePixie sometimes has a tail that have a life all of its own, MOL ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteJust like Saffy's! I'll be sure to tell him he's not alone. PURRS
