hunkerin' down.

Hey ho!  Seville the Cat here, reportin' on Saturday September 7th from the beautiful province of Nova Scotia, where the big news is...

WE'RE A HUNKERIN' DOWN.

MOUSES!

Not to be confused with the stuff that had to be ANCHORED down, yesterday afternoon.

You know, on account of the storm.

MOUSES!

That's right; the peeps, Rushy, and I are in full...

FULL HURRICANE WARNING MODE as I speak.

I mean, type.

MOUSES!

What's that?  What's that, Peepers?  What's that you're babblin' on about now?

Oh.

Hmmm...

Okay, so this just in...  The Valley continues to have wind and rainfall warnings, but the hurricane warning has been downgraded to a tropical storm one.

For us.

The more southern counties are still lookin' at a hurricane, and...

And speakin' of lookin', Peepers, WHY THE MOUSES ARE YOU LOOKIN' LIKE THAT ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON?

You can't see Peep #1, my friends, but if you could...

If you could...

Well if you could, you'd wonder why someone hunkerin' down is dressed in their jammies on a Saturday afternoon, with their hair stuck in a ponytail on the top of their head like it's some kinda weird hair fountain, and wearin' stupid lookin' slippers on their feet, and...

Yes, Peepers, YES.  Yes, I am tellin' my readers all 'bout how FOOLISH you look, dressed up like a four-year-old...

A four-year-old...

A four-year-old somethin' or other, the like of which no self-respecting bloggin' kitty has ever seen before, and...

What's that, Peepers?

Well I'LL TELL YOU WHY I'm tellin' my readers all 'bout what you're wearin'.  The thing is, if somethin' happens to you in the storm, and I have to call in the emergency crews....

I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I HAD NOTHIN' TO DO WITH YOUR APPEARANCE.  NOR DO I APPROVE.

Approve of your appearance, I mean.

Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be for me to have YOU, MY peep, seen in public lookin' like that?

CAN YOU IMAGINE?

MOUSES!

AND IN OTHER NEWS...

In other news, we're all stocked up with bottled water, nip mice, and non-perishable food.  And there are flashlights on paw, and...

And apparently the peep has also stocked up on...

WHAT THE MOUSES HAVE YOU DONE NOW?

You're what?

MOUSES!

Peepers, I'm tellin' ya, if we have to call anyone in, I am NOT bein' seen with you with that mask of mud on your face.  I DON'T CARE if you're takin' the opportunity of an afternoon at home to give yourself some kinda facial.  You have any idea how stupid you look?  Well I'LL TELL YOU exactly how you look.  Ridiculous, is what.  Do you not even own a mirror?  Do you know how to use one?  If we lose power 'cause of ol' Hurricane Dorian and have no water, you're gonna be left with that bluish-green mask of mud stickin' to your face with no way to get it off.  What, and with your already ridiculous-lookin' appearance in those funny slippers and jammies and everythin', you're gonna look...

UGH.

MOUSES!

Why can't you be like normal peeps, Peepers?  Normal Nova Scotian peeps who, when there's a storm a-comin', stock up on storm chips and beer and the like.  Peeps who make last-minute runs to Tim's, and...  And...  And make sure they're wearin' clean undies in case of an emergency rescue...  And who don't wear stupid-lookin' slippers on their feet in the middle of the afternoon!!!  And...

AND ARE THOSE SUPPOSED TO BE BUNNIES ON THOSE SLIPPERS?

No, seriously, are they?  'Cause I can't quite tell.  They look kinda like bunnies, but with elephant ears.

MOUSES!

    1. WE'RE OKAY!!! Lots of damage in Halifax, the Eastern Shore, and the South Shore, but here in the Valley, we were spared the brunt of the hurricane. We didn't even lose power! CBC said 80% of the province is without power though. We were super lucky. PURRS
