who's got the moves?

Apparently my brother, Anderson, thinks he can dance.

MOUSES!

Yeah, you should have seen him this mornin'.  Andy raced into the kitchen and skidded to a stop, right there in the middle of the room.  Then Peep #1 asked him somethin' - I have no idea what 'cause you know how I tend to tune her out when she babbles. - and Andy, bein' Andy, felt the need to dance.

Okay, so it wasn't so much of a dance as a...  Uh...  Umm...

Okay, so he shook himself so hard, his front legs did the splits.

MOUSES!

And believe you me, MOUSES! is exactly what I yelled when I saw the sight.

The peep didn't, though.  She's seen Andy do this before.

Thing is, when Andy gives himself a good shake, his front paws kinda slide out from under him, in opposite directions, and the next thing you know...

The next thing you know, he's doin' the splits.

MOUSES!

Personally, I'm thinkin' he's thinkin' he's got the moves.

No.  No, that's NOT what I said.  I didn't say he HAS the moves.  I said, he THINKS he has the moves.

Those are totally different things.

MOUSES!

I, on the other paw, do have the moves.  I don't just think I have 'em; I DO have 'em, for sure.

You ever see a cat jump straight up in the air and sideways at the same time?

Well I can do that.  Oh yeah, I most certainly can.

MOUSES!

Mason doesn't have any dance moves, although she can make us boys move when she wants us to.

Come to think of it, when I do my signature up-in-the-air-sideways-move, Mason is usually nearby.

COME TO THINK OF IT, when I do my signature dance move, it's usually BECAUSE Mason is nearby.

COME TO THINK OF IT, when I do my signature move, it's usually to prevent my sister from givin' me a smack.

Or a whack.

Or even a thwack.

MOUSES!

I guess Mason does have some dance moves after all.

MOUSES!

And then there's Rushy.  Rushy, Rushy, Rushy...  Where do I begin?

Rushy does what is called, The Eight Paw Hop.  He practically invented the step.  He uses his four paws to move to the left, then uses them again, to move to the right.  Four plus four is eight and that's how you get eight paws in the Eight Paw Hop.

Then Peep #1 takes a step, and...

Scratch that.  Then Peep #1 attempts to take a step, but instead, she ends up HOPPIN'...

Hoppin';  trippin';  Whatever.

Anyway, she ends up hoppin' right over Rushton's head.  In case you hadn't guessed, that's the hop in the Eight Paw Hop.

On a good day, Peep #1 lands on both feet, but...

Well let's just say, good days come far and few between.

MOUSES!

And speakin' of  peeps...

Peep #1, like Anderson, thinks she can dance, however...

However, SHE CAN'T.

You ever see a peep dancin' in the kitchen while makin' dinner when she thinks no one is lookin'?

You haven't?

Well count yourself lucky, my friends.  You can count yourself lucky, for sure.  'Cause let me tell you somethin':  I've seen a peep dancin' in the kitchen while makin' dinner and thinkin' no one is lookin', and...

AND IT'S A SIGHT A KITTY CAN NEVER UNSEE.

MOUSES!

Hmm...

I wonder if the peep has ever shook herself so hard she did the splits like Andy.

Hmm...

I wonder how I could get the peep to shake herself so hard she'd do the splits like Andy..

HMM...

I wonder if I CAN MAKE the peep shake herself so hard she does the splits like Andy.

HMM...

I THINK I SHOULD TRY.

MOUSES!

You could try the running between her legs as she does the cookery dance, Sevvers. My angel Jasper-cat tried that one on me once - back a century or so when I had supple somewhere in my body. The splits turned themselves into a kinda scissor action and I was like a spread lotus, whilst he and his sisfur Jade-dog licked the pancake batter off the floor... not that I's inciting any moves, y'unnerstand. You didn't hear it from me... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. Oh dear, Seville. That's quite a sight... your peep doin' the splits! That's about as bad as Grammy doing a face plant after tripping over nothing - well maybe something - don't let on we squealed Shhh! she tripped over her own feet. Yup! She says the dust bunnies obscured the toes but we don't believe her.

  3. Careful, Sivvers! Sometimes, peeps can hurt themse;ves bad when they try to do the splits. And since they are the ones with thumbs and all, you don't want them out of commission!

  4. Oooh now around here when we all sing "Lets all do the Hop" it has to do with mice not food.... OK thats food too MOL But Mrs H doesnt need and help from me to do the hop skip or jump, and I even saw her do the pogo using her broom! Doing the splits though would be kinda tough and hazardous to cats on account of hospitalisation risks to the meal provider! Best just stick with the hop... Could try a forward roll, maybe?

  5. My human dances to exercise videos. She is actually pretty good at it! Although she'll never be as graceful as a kitty.

  9. I thought my Momma was the only one who thought she could dance! Let me tell you ... she dances like a constipated caterpillar - and her signing is identical to a dying cricket! ~Bear Cat

  11. I bet you CAN GET your peep to do that, Severs and if you do - I wanna see a picture of it. Tee hee hee! You are a persuasive kind of pussycat and know what you want and how to get it.

  13. I'd love to see Andy doing the splits, but it would probably not be a good idea if the peep did it.
