anyone know any astronauts?

Guess what happened to me.  Actually, a whole bunch of stuff has happened to me all in the last ten days or so.  Ohhh...  this is so exciting.  I just can't wait to tell everyone all about it.

First of all, I reached 2500 page views of my blog.  Can you believe it?  It seems like only yesterday when I reached a thousand.  Now, I have two and a half times that.   WOW!

Twenty-five hundred kitties and their peeps have read my blog.  It's mind boggling, really.  I just can't get over it.  Neither can the peep!  When I first told her, the news almost knocked her over.  No...  she hadn't been into the nip.  She was just flabbergasted.  Well, who wouldn't be?  Also, you have to remember that the peeps are always trying to balance precariously on two feet.  Silly, if you ask me.  Four paws on the ground is much more stable.  Don't you think?

You know, I was lookin' at my stats and I realised something.  I have had visits from kitties from six of the world's seven continents.  That's really neat, I think.  No one has visited my blog from Antarctica but that's okay 'cause I don't think a lot of penguins have internet access and those who do...  well...  they probably live in some aquarium in Florida or someplace like that...  not in Antarctica.  As for the other continents, I've got friends in all of them.  In North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.  It just blows my mind.  And no...  I haven't been into the nip, either.  At least not today...

A few hours after logging my 2500th page view, I also picked up my 1000th follower on twitter.  I could hardly believe it...  a thousand!  Good thing I was planted firmly on all four of my paws (unlike the peep) 'cause let me tell you, when I realised what had happened, a blue jay could have blown me over with a feather.  For those of you who tweet, I'm known on twitter as @nerissathecat so...  if we haven't been tweeting together, drop me a line, okay?

Then - as if all this weren't exciting enough - the other day, my friend Sammy awarded me with my second award.  Yup...  the ABC Award.  I'm still busy working on my post regarding that but I thought it would be okay to let it slip that I had received it.  I was so thrilled to read in Sammy's blog that he was giving me an award 'cause it seems so long ago since I won one...  but it wasn't all that long ago really, I guess...  but you know how these things are.  Always nice to get a pat on the shoulder, I think.  Thanks, Sammy.

Now, all these things are absolutely, super-duper fantastic however, I still have goals for the future.  No, sirree...  I'm not a sat who is gonna just sit there and rest on his laurels...  whatever laurels are 'cause usually I sit and rest on my bum...  but anyway...  the point is...  I still have goals.

I've got two goals for the near future.  The first is that I want ten thousand page views on my blog.  Oh yes...  that will be a special day when it arrives.  It certainly will.  There will be extra treats on that day, I am sure.

And my second goal?  Well...  since I really don't think there's much of a chance of my picking up any readers from Antarctica - one has to be reasonable about these things you know - I think I'd like to make up for my Antarctica losses by picking up a reader or two on the space station.  That would be very nice.  Yes...  very nice, indeed.  So, my question is this...  do any of you kitties out there know any astronauts?  And if you do, could you please ask them to read my blog?  And when they're up there orbiting the Earth and reading my blog, if they could manage to leave a comment saying that they're actually on the space station, well, that would be great.  Just absolutely, fantastically, wonderfully great.  And do you know what?  If I get an astronaut reading my blog from the space station...  well...  the next round of nip will be on me!

  1. Hehehe - you are indeed a star, but we do wonder if the starmen and starwomen will check your blog! We wonder what the ISP would be, and where would it be displayed on the stats map! Anyway, keep up the bloggng and that stat counter will spin....

    1. I wondered 'bout the stats map, too. That's why I think those astronauts should leave a message explaining they're reading in space. I think that's best, don't you?

  11. Ummmm, yeah, actually I do. LOL! But grounded now. John Grunsfeld was Deputy Director of the Institute! He actually sent his resume to the 'tute from space on the last Hubble servicing mission, so there IS a possibility you could get an astronaut to write to you, Nerissa!

  18. Hey! Concatulations on the visits/tweets/posts, etc. It's fun to pass milestones in the world of cyberspace isn't it? I'm not sure what my stats are - but I'm happy for every single one of them and all the swell friends I've made. Speaking of which, glad you're having fun with the ABC award A-Z list - it's a challenge I know. Mom and I had to get out the dictionary to come up with some of the words. ;)

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  20. Darling, I think you could increase the odds of getting a reader on the space station EXPONENTIALLY if you could blog a little in Russian, n'est-ce pas?

    1. Unfortunately, I don't speak Russian but... the peep does a mean Russian accent. Think she learned that in theater school or something. Or maybe from watching episodes of Stargate and the X-Files on television? Lots of Russian kitties read my blog, though. Russia is number four in my stats! Any of you Russian kitties know an astronaut or two? Anyone?

  28. I don't think it really matters that you don't really speak Russian. Just type some words with lots of Ds and Ks and Zs and Rs and not very many vowels and maybe that'll do the trick?

  29. Concats on this impressive number of views - and your award.
