my magical sister that isTess

I was sitting in the dining room the other day when I heard a noise at the door.  It's called a pocket door.  I'm not really sure why.  It doesn't have any pockets...  I've checked.  Sniffed the whole thing from bottom to top...  well...  as far up as I can reach...  and on both sides.  Not a pocket in sight.  Anywho...

There I am, sitting in the dining room when I hear a noise.  The so-called pocket door was mostly closed but there was a teeny-tiny opening...  maybe three inches.  Not much of an opening, if you ask me.  I noticed a fawn coloured paw coming in through the opening of the door.  And then another.  Then a nose.  It was my sister Mason.  That's as far as she got.  The rest of her didn't fit.  She waited for a minute or so but when no one got up to open the door any further, she gave up and went back into the kitchen.   Probably for a snack or something.

A little while later, I heard another noise at the door.  I thought to myself, "that Mason is back.  If she didn't fit before having the snack, she sure as mouses isn't gonna fit afterwards."  But I was wrong.  Yes, it happens...  not often but occasionally - VERY occasionally - I am sometimes wrong.  Anywho...

It was my sister Tess.  First I saw a nose, then whiskers and then a whole head!  Then, like magic, she came right through the door.  Yes, right through that teeny-tiny, little itty-bitty-witty, three-inch opening.  I could hardly believe my eyes!  If I hadn't see it for myself, I wouldn't have believed it at all.  How she got through that opening is beyond me.  Like I said, I think she uses magic.  She must 'cause...  well...  how else could you explain it?

Tess isn't a big girl...  but she's not teeny-tiny either.  Not like the teeny-tiny opening through which she passed.  I realise that her long hair makes her look bigger than she really is but still...  she's just not that small!  For the life of me, I don't understand the magic trick at all.

I'm gonna ask Tess if she'll teach me this trick.  We could take this show on the road.  Tess with her magic and me with my cuteness.  Oh, what a show it would be.  And we could bring along a peep or two.  I understand that staff is usually required for the backstage stuff.  So, if you happen to see my name up in lights, start preparing yourself for the best, most magical show in the world.  Shhh...  the house lights have dropped...  the curtain is opening...  the show is about to begin.

  18. Some kitties are magical! We had a kitty, Toby, who could open any door. The mom thought his extra toes were a sign of his ability. He hated closed doors and would go around opening them. Once the mom put his best kitty friend in the bathroom so she would be easy to put in the PTU to take to the VETS. When she finished opening the PTU she turned in time to see his tail leading her tail away from the bathroom.

  24. Ooh, we think we'd like pocket doors. Nicki's very good at opening sliding track doors and thinks he'd make it through a pocket door too. Maybe he could sign up as an apprentice in your magic act!

  27. We had a pocket door once. It was never left open wide enough for my royal roundness, so I'd have to take the long way around to the living room.

Tess is very smart, but I don't think she'll be sharing her secret!
