just doin' my bit

So anyway...

So anyway, there was a...  a minor kerfuffle of sorts, at my house, early this mornin'.  But I'm not gonna name any names 'cause I'm not that kinda kitty, and...

Oh, who am I kiddin'?  I AM that kinda kitty, for sure, but still...

But still, I'm not namin' names.  Instead, I'm...

I'M PLEADIN' THE FIFTH.

MOUSES!

So anyway...

So anyway, as I was sayin', there was a kerfuffle.  And yes, said kerfuffle did involve cats.  Unnamed, perhaps, but it did, in fact, involve those of the feline persuasion.

MOUSES!

Now I'm not sure exactly what time this kerfuffle occurred on account of only some of the clocks havin' already been moved forward.  Moved forward for Daylight Saving Time, you see.  But even if they HAD all been moved forward, AT MY HOUSE, it's likely they'd all have been set for different times, anyway.  But that's that's another story for another day, and...

Oh, who am I kiddin'?  I'll address this issue right now.

Thing is, there are a multitude of clocks in my house, not to mention one in the car, and maybe some others.  But the fact of the matter is...

NOT ONE OF 'EM IS SET TO THE SAME TIME.

Every single one of those clocks is off by a couple minutes.  At least.  And they can't all be right.  That's impossible, for sure.  One of 'em MIGHT be right, I suppose.  Yeah, one could be right and the rest all be wrong, but odds are...

EVERY SINGLE ONE IS SET INCORRECTLY.

'Cause that's how we roll here at my house.

MOUSES!

But time - no pun intended - to get back to the topic at paw: the early mornin' kerfuffle.

The sun was up, but as I said, I have no idea what time it actually was.  Peepers was still in bed, snorin'.

Okay, fine, she wasn't actually snorin'.  But I'm tellin' her she was, and how can she know any differently?  After all, she was asleep.  She had no idea was was goin' on.

But then the kerfuffle happened and all H, E, double hockey sticks broke loose.  Peepers was up like a flash, makin' sure kitties were okay and whatnot, and...

And THAT'S how we kitties got Peepers up an hour early, to accommodate the movin' forward of the clocks.

Even though said clocks had mostly not yet been forwarded.

Okay, so I'm takin' some liberties there.  Not sure a clock can be forwarded without bein' moved - or somethin' like that - but hey, I liked the poetic metre.

MOUSES!

Yup, I was just doin' my bit to help out the peeps.

Plus, it meant brekkies were served an hour early.

MOUSES!

  1. I am familiar with your predicament. When I go from the kitchen to the bedroom I cross the international date line

  3. That was a clever way to get the peep out of bed. All our clocks are different too. I never change the one in my car so it is only correct for half the year. :)

    1. Peepers has the car clock set 'bout ten or fifteen minutes ahead. You can imagine what happened when she took it into the garage and they very "helpfully" set it to the right time. MOUSES!

  4. That was some excellent motivating, Sivvers! And if it makes you feel any better, the clocks here all seem to be a little off, too. MOUSES!

  5. Clever....very clever!

Petcretary grew up in a house full of clocks and watches as that was our
'Opa's' profession...it took ages to change the times twice a year! She has some of the clocks here now...but changing the time to go forward is a lot easier in a clock that cuckoos or chimes, than setting it backward. She just stops the pendulum for an hour, LOL!

  6. So, if breakfast was an hour early, when the clocks went forward does that mean it was an hour closer to your next meal/lunchtime? I ask as we will be changing our clocks end of this month.
