You've heard of power walkin', right?
Good. But the thing is, I'm not talkin' about that.
And you've heard of a power play, right?
Excellent! But I'm not talkin' about that, either.
What I am talkin' about today is the power nap. Or actually, power nappin', to be exact. And I'm talkin' about power nappin' on account of Saffron havin' taken up power nappin', as of late.
MOUSES!
So the other day, Saffy practically slept the whole day away. Oh sure, he got up now and then for a snack or a meal or to use the uh... facilities, if you know what I mean. But the rest of the time?
Well the rest of the time, he napped.
And when he was all done nappin'...
When he was all done nappin', he was so worn out...
He was so worn out from all that nappin', Saffy had to uh...
Well, you know...
He had to squeeze in an extra nap.
MOUSES!
Now squeezin' in an extra nap here and there might seem pretty easy to those who have never power napped before; but it's actually quite difficult, to be sure. It has to do with math and time and the space-time continuum and...
Okay, it actually has nothin' to do with the space-time continuum.
But it definitely has a lot to do with math and time, and stuff like that.
MOUSES!
Thing is, there's only so much time available in any one given day, you see: twenty-four hours or one thousand four hundred and forty minutes, whichever measurement of time floats your particular boat. Either way, once all that time is used up, it's gone. GONE, I say. GONE!
So you see, if one uses up the entire twenty-four hour period of a given day power nappin', one has a really big problem, for sure.
Why is this a problem, you ask? WHY?
Well...
Well the thing is, power nappin' can be exhaustin'. It requires energy, you see. And it also requires rest. That's right, my friends, one must rest up before and after the power nap. Sometimes quite a lot of rest is required.
All depends on how strenuously one naps.
MOUSES!
So let's say a kitty power naps for fifty minutes an hour, every hour. The other ten minutes are used for gettin' a stretch in here and there, acquirin' sustenance, and usin' those facilities I mentioned before. Now if this same kitty power naps for fifty minutes an hour - EVERY hour - for a twenty-four period, this kitty is gonna be TOTALLY EXHAUSTED from all that power nappin', and then...
And then...
Well then, said kitty is gonna be so exhausted, said kitty is gonna be in serious need of a really big nap.
But the thing is...
The thing is, after twenty-four hours of power nappin', the entire day has been used up, and therefore...
THEREFORE, THERE'S NO TIME LEFT FOR THAT MUCH NEEDED NAP.
And that, my friends, is what happened to Saffron the other day.
MOUSES!
And this is why Saffy Saffron Sassafras had to spend most of yesterday sleepin'. He was so tired and worn out from all his power nappin' the day before, he had to spend yesterday taking one really, REALLY LONG NAP.
Happens more often than you might think.
MOUSES!

Remember to mask up, too.
I'm so glad explained this. As a mere human, I'm not attuned to feline napping nuances.
ReplyDeleteYup, peeps rarely understand how exhaustin' nappin' can be. MOUSES!
DeleteSeville, I got tired just reading about Saffy power napping...*yawn*...and now I need...*yawn*...a nap too!
ReplyDeleteCareful there, my friend. Nap too much and you're gonna be in need of ANOTHER nap. MOUSES!
DeleteNow I want a nap or two.:)
ReplyDeleteWell, a good nap really can wear you out!
ReplyDeleteMouses! We're tired just trying to figure out your purrfect logic, Sivvers. We need a nap!
ReplyDeleteIs that the same for us pups?? We nap a lot too...to recharge the barking machines that we are. One needs power for the charging up...so yes, we think we too do/need power napping! BOL!
ReplyDeleteMOUSES!!! We are totally EXHAUSTICATED just reading about so much Power Napping!!
ReplyDeleteGee! That is a lot of napping! I like to nap too, but I also love belly rubs !
ReplyDeleteI spend some time convincing my person to give me more and am usually successful ;) Then, I need a good nap ;) MOL!
