public service announcement

THE FOLLOWING IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT...

...brought to you by Nerissa's Life and Seville the Cat.

That's me, by the way.

MOUSES!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is extremely important that we cats continuously monitor the peeps in our lives, makin' sure they are SOCIAL DISTANCING and WASHING THEIR PAWS.

I mean, hands.

MOUSES!

That's right, two of the most important things our peeps can do during this crisis are to social distance themselves and exercise proper paw-washin' hygiene.

So exactly what is social distancin', you ask?

Hmmm...

Now let's see...

Okay.  So you know how when your peeps wanna rub your tummy and you're not in the mood for a tummy rub?  And you know how you give 'em a good bunny kick with the hind legs if they don't take your hints 'bout not bein' in a tummy rubbin' mood?

Well that, my friends, is social distancin'.

MOUSES!

Okay, okay...  I'm not suggestin' peeps go 'round the neighbourhood bunny kickin' other peeps with their hind paws.  In fact, truth be told, if peeps are exercisin' social distancin' properly, they won't be gettin' close enough to bunny kick anyone, no matter how much they might FEEL like bunny kickin' the peep who just put the last package of toilet paper in an already toilet paper filled cart.

MOUSES!

For peeps, social distancin' means keepin' two metres between themselves and other peeps at all times - that's about six paws for my US pals - when they're out in public huntin' for toilet paper.  It also includes not bein' out in public any more than they absolutely have to be.

And meetin' for tea and coffee is not somethin' anyone HAS to do, my friends.

MOUSES!

If you can, STAY HOME.

This stayin' at home business, of course, will likely mean more tummy rubs for us cats.

Which might very well lead to more bunny kicks.

MOUSES!

But nevertheless, SOCIAL DISTANCING IS IMPORTANT.  It's one of the best ways to slow down the spread of COVID-19.  The virus can't hop from one peep to another all willy-nilly like.  It's not a flea.  The virus needs close contact in order to spread, and social distancin' takes away that close contact, preventin' the virus' spread.

So NO HUGGING, NO KISSING, and NO SHAKING OF PAWS.

I mean, hands.

MOUSES!

Okay, so peeps can hug and kiss their cats.  That's okay, 'cause we cats don't carry the virus.  They might get themselves a bunny kick or somethin' like that in return, but that's about it.

BUT NO STANDIN' ON STREET CORNERS  HUGGIN' AND KISSIN' OTHER PEEPS!

Or shakin' their paws.

MOUSES!

And speakin' of paws...

It is extremely important that peeps are washing their hands.  A good twenty-second wash with soap and water should do, makin' sure they wash from the tips of their fingers, right down to their wrists, and every little space in between.

Peeps go out for a TP run?  Peeps come back inside and IMMEDIATELY WASH THEIR HANDS.

Peeps go out for some snacks and treats?  Peeps come back inside and IMMEDIATELY WASH THEIR HANDS.

Peeps go out for tins of your favourite din-dins?  Peeps come back inside and IMMEDIATELY WASH THEIR HANDS.

Hear that peeps?

YOU'VE GOTTA WASH YOUR HANDS.

And with soap and water, please, not spit and polish like we cats.

MOUSES!

We have now come to the end of my public service announcement.

MOUSES!
