You're welcome Peepers.
*smugly, I should add*
And I can certainly understand why my actions brought a smile to your face, Peepers. I can TOTALLY see why they would. I mean...
I mean, it only makes sense, you see.
But when it comes right down to it, that's just the kinda cat I am. Yup, I'm the kinda cat who does stuff simply to make my peep happy. The kinda cat who wants to please his peep. The kinda cat who...
Okay, so I was wantin' into the house at the time, and gettin' your attention seemed like a good way to make that happen, but...
But still, it was THE WAY IN WHICH I GOT your attention that made you smile.
Yup, that's just the kinda cat I am.
I know! I mean, it's not EVERY kitty who comes running to his peep when he sees said peep out in the garden. It's not EVERY kitty who runs up to his peep, looks up at said peep and mews, sweetly.
It most certainly was a sweet mew, Peepers. I mewed loudly only on account of needin' to be heard above all those stupid singin' birds.
Now where was I?
Oh yeah. It's not EVERY kitty who runs up to his peep, mews SWEETLY, and then stands up on his hind paws as if to say, "Oh hello there, Dear Peepers. How are you today?"
What's that, Peepers?
Well yeah. The head scritch was nice, I must admit. But don't you go around sayin' the ONLY reason I stood up on my hind legs was to get a head scritch. The head scritch was nothin' more than an added bonus, you see.
You know, I would have thought you'd be far more grateful and appreciative of my behaviour than you appear to be. You have any idea how good my actions make you look to the neighbours? You have ANY idea?
Oh sure, I mean, my actions probably did make ME look better than they made you look. I mean...
I mean, I'm sure anyone who saw me doin' what I did is thinkin' to themselves right now, What a sweet kitty that Seville the Cat is, but...
But they're also probably thinkin', That Seville the Cat must really love his first peep for him to go running to her like that. You know?
Of course you do.
And you know what else they're thinkin', Peepers? They're also thinkin', That ol' peep of his must be a REALLY GOOD PEEP for a cat such as Seville the Cat to love her like that. Yup, I bet that's what they're thinkin', for sure. So...
So Peepers, you might wanna think about givin' me some extra treats and stuff today. And maybe knit me up a new nip mouse or two? You know, so that you can live up to the neighbours' new found expectations of you, and...
'CAUSE THEY'RE ONLY THINKIN' YOU'RE NICE ON ACCOUNT OF HOW I RAN UP TO YOU, AND MEWED SO SWEETLY, AND STOOD UP ON MY HIND PAWS, MAKIN' IT LOOK LIKE I LOVED YOU. THAT'S WHY.
Peepers, it's like this: Work WITH me and you'll get good press 'round the neighbourhood. Stature, so to speak. Undeserved credibility. You know, that sort of thing. Work against me, and... And the neighbours will continue to think about you what they've been thinkin' all along, and believe-you-me, it's not good.
Well not so much not good, as...
Stupid and weird.
And kinda insane.
And did I already mention weird?
Good press and weird can go together I think!ReplyDelete
Good job Seville, you're always thinking about others.ReplyDelete
Poor Seville, I am sorry your peep doesn't appreciate how sweet you are to her.ReplyDelete
MOL, I dearly now wish to meet the peep to see if all the weirdnesses are true. I mean I could add some credibility being a Princess an' all. Just think what a state visit would do for the neighbourhood: house prices up, nip shares on the rise and mice based crimes fall to lowest levels.. plus cream sales up!ReplyDelete
Ya should get extra treats for improving da peep's reputayshun.ReplyDelete
Masterfully played, Seville. My Langston does that but precedes with the rub up and around the legs.ReplyDelete
Seville have you been such a good cat giving such good press to your peep I am sure a few small treats should be rewarded. MOL you are one character my friendReplyDelete
Oh Seville! You are a delight, did you know that?ReplyDelete
Most pawsome example of feline manipulation. Very very proud of you, Seville. Taking notes here.ReplyDelete
