cookie recipes

Now where was I?  Oh yeah, I creamed together the butter and sugar.  Now I need to add some eggs and vanilla.  Hmmm...  I think I'll skip the vanilla.  Don't know if I like the stuff.  Don't know how well it will go with nip, either.

"Oh Peepers...    The recipe says to use a twelve-ounce package of chocolate chips but chocolate isn't good for me because I'm a cat and all.  Should I replace that with twelve ounces of dried nip?  Twelve ounces is a whole lot of nip.  Seems like it might be too much.  You think I should use less than that?"

"What am I doing?  What a stupid question, Peepers.  I'm making cookies, of course.  Blogger told me I had to make cookies and then post about them on my blog and since I'm a super good kitty, I always do what I'm told."  Well usually anyway, I silently added.

"They did too!  Look at this notice I received from the powers-that-be at Blogger.  See?"

European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies
     used on your blog.

"Told you!  MOUSES!"

"What do you mean that's not the same kind of cookies?"  Awww...  MOUSES!  I knew I should have gone with the shortbread, instead.

"You mean shortbread isn't the right kind of cookie, either?  Well then what kind of cookies am I supposed to be using?"

I bit my lip, pondering the notion that shortbread might be some kind of bread rather than cookies or, maybe, just something really short.

Then it came to me.  In Britain, they call cookies biscuits.  I knew this from watching all those episodes of Keeping up Appearances with the peeps, you see.  Yeah, that Hyacinth is always serving up biscuits to her neighbour Liz although truth be told, Liz very rarely gets to eat any from what I've seen.

"Oh Peepers...  You have any recipes for biscuits?  No?  Nothing?  How about fried chicken?  I've heard that biscuits are often served with fried chicken.  Any recipes for that?"

The peep didn't even bother to answer about the chicken.  What a peep.

"What about crackers?  You have any cracker recipes on paw, Peepers?  I could break 'em up and serve them with a little ice-cold Camembert cheese."

"Peepers, you have any recipes at all?  MOUSES!"

"Never mind, Peepers.  I read a little further and it looks like Blogger is serving up the cookies to my European pals, themselves.  I don't have to bake any after all."

As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger
     and Google cookies.

And it was a good thing, too, as I had looked through all the peep's cookbooks and there wasn't a Blogger Cookie recipe to be found.  MOUSES!

                          *************************************************

Having finally figured out that Blogger wasn't talking about cookies one eats at all, I went straight to work at finding out if their cookie recipes were visible when peeps were reading my blog.

You are responsible for confirming that this notice actually works for your blog and that it is
     displayed.

"Peepers, it says here that I'm responsible to confirm those cookie recipes are actually being shown.  How do I do that?  I looked on my blog and can't find any recipes, anywhere. Come on Peepers...  I need your IT skills, ASAP."

With a slap to my forehead I remembered that the peep doesn't have it when it comes to IT.  She's supposed to be my IT support but really it's her IT skills that need the support.  They're barely hanging on by a thread.  Her skills should be on life support, for sure.  MOUSES!

Nissy always said he had the worst IT support in the history of IT support and now I do, too.  Bet the peep doesn't even know what IT stands for.  Come to think of it, neither do I.  Do you?

Anyway, I got the peep to look into this confirmation thingy for me.  Looking over her shoulder while she read, I spotted something.  "Oohhh...  Look at that, Peepers!  Try clicking there."

To see the notice if you’re outside of the EU, view your blog and change the country code."

"Peepers, what's a country code?  Is it for spies or something?  Spies use codes all the time.  I should know, being a...  Ummm...  Never mind."

Whew!  Almost blew my cover there.  Got to be more careful when talking about spy stuff around the peep.  MOUSES!

"Never mind, Peepers.  Looks like even if you could figure out how to decode the country stuff, we still wouldn't be able to see the notice.  I think I have what they're calling a custom domain."

If you use a custom domain, you won't see the notice outside of the EU.

"Don't fret, Peepers.  I'll just teleport on over to the UK and read my blog from there."

That's when I realised I didn't have to teleport after all.  I could just call up my pal, Erin, who happens to be a Princess living in Britain.  I was sure she'd be more than happy to help a friend in need and boy-oh-boy was I ever in need.  When you have a peep like my peep, you're almost always in need.  Did I mention about her lack of IT skills?  They're pretty needy, for sure. MOUSES!

Erin got right on it and checked things out for me.  Yup, the cookie recipe was up.  Everything was looking A-Okay. Whew!

Now back to the original task at paw. "Oh Peepers, you think twelve ounces of dried nip is too much for these cookies?"

What was I thinking?  Too much nip? TOO MUCH?  Is that even possible? What a stupid question.  Twelve ounces should be just about right and that, my friends, is a fact.  MOUSES!
