oh Saffron....

MOUSES!

My gosh, Peepers is lookin' like she was brutally beaten, and do you know whose fault that is?  DO you?

NO, it's not mine.

MOUSES!

Okay, so it's only her arms.  Scratch that, one arm.  And long sleeves will cover it up, I suppose.  But still, it's not a pretty sight.  And do you know whose fault it is?  DO you?

That's right: Saffron's.

MOUSES!

Well yesterday started off like any normal day.  Peepers got up, got dressed, and prepared the mornin' meal for us kitties.  Saffron, as usual, decided he was headin' outdoors on the veranda.

But then...

But then, just as Peepers was lettin' him out, she realised James was over at the far end of the veranda, just on the other side of the railin'.  James was waitin' for his brekkies, too.

Saffron must have smelled him or something 'cause he looked over at James and issued forth a low growl.

Peepers realised what was goin' on and swooped in to grab Saffy and bring him back indoors.  She wanted to give James his brekkies with Saffy inside.  You know, so he'd get a chance to actually eat it.

But Saffy Saffers Saffron Sassafras - yeah, I call him that sometimes - was havin' nothin' to do with that.  As Peepers bent down to pick that brother of mine up, he kinda turned and twisted, rose up on his hind legs or somthin' - it all happened so fast, you see - and gave Peepers one good swat on her upper left arm.

Now Peepers has always known Saffron was a pretty strong cat but she had NO idea just how strong he was.  Bottom line is, this little altercation between 'em resulted in two small puncture marks, the lettin' of some of her blood, and...

AND ONE GIGANTIC BRUISE THE SIZE OF MOUNT EVEREST.

Okay, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration.  It's probably more the size of Mount Logan.

MOUSES!

So anyway...

So anyway, Saffron is in the dog house, so to speak.

Well he would be - in the dog house, I mean - if we actually had a house for dogs.  But with this here house bein' more geared toward those of us of the feline persuasion, we don't.  And what's more...

What's more is that that ol' peep of mine has already gone and forgiven him.  Yup, I saw Saffron in her arms gettin' all loved up later, yesterday, totally forgiven, for sure.  Almost like nothin' had ever happened!

MOUSES!

Of course, that was BEFORE she saw to what size that ol' bruise had grown.  Before she saw just how deep a shade of purple it was, too.

I didn't even know peeps' skin could turn that colour.

MOUSES!

  3. Hiya Sivvers! Whoa, we are glad to know that all is sorta forgiven, but tell your Peep to take good care of those puncture wound. We don't want them getting infected. XO

  4. My Peep has had even tame inside cats turn wild and aggressive like that when seeing a strange cat outside. Purrs to your Peep and a suggestion she gets onto some antibiotics ASAP.

  6. I'd always heard: NEVER try to break up a cat fight!
And I've amended that to: NEVER try to clip Sweetie's claws or give her a pill.

  7. Purrhaps antibiotics AND an anti-tetanus shot?

  8. Sounds like this was a painful situation for your peep! I hope that she heals quickly and doesn't get too many more of these.
