I'm bored

*sighs*

I'm bored.

*SIGHS*

I am SOOO bored.

MOUSES!

That ever happen to you, my friends?  Do any of you ever get bored?

And if you do, what do you do about it?

SERIOUSLY, what do you do?  I'm all ears.  I really, REALLY need to figure out how not to be so bored.

I tried complainin' to the peep but that didn't go over too well.  Instead of helpin' me, she gave me a bunch of things to do, and she said if I did 'em all, I would no longer be bored.

Yeah, right.  Turns out, all those things she said I should do?  They were all things she didn't want to do herself.  It was nothin' but a scam, for sure.

Plus, all those things that were supposed to make me less bored?  Well they were borin', too!  MOUSES!

So I decided to take matters into my own paws and find somethin' to do myself.

*sighs*

So I watched my cat grass grow for a bit.

Turns out, watchin' cat grass grow isn't all that interestin'.  I mean, I sat there for like a WHOLE FIVE MINUTES and didn't see it do a thing.  MOUSES!

Then I offered to help the peep with her knittin'.

Turns out, my idea of helpin' with knittin' and her idea of helpin' with knittin', are TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS.  And for the record, Peep #1's idea of my helpin' with knittin' is as borin' as borin' can be.  MOUSES!

Peep #1 suggested I clean up the family room by puttin' away my toys.

For the love of all things mouses.  What kinda stupid idea is that?  I finally got my toys all scattered around the room just the way I like it, so why the mouses would I want to turn around and put 'em all away?  That made no sense at all.

Plus, it turns out that I'm a lot better at makin' messes than I am at cleaning 'em up, anyway.  MOUSES!

Oohhh...  But I made a game!  Well, it's a puzzle, to be exact.  My pal Basil, from over at the Bionic Basil blog, told me 'bout this really neat puzzle-makin' site, so I trotted on over there, and checked it out for myself.  And while there, I made a puzzle!  If you click on Nissy's picture over on the right-paw side of my blog, you can do the puzzle, too.

And speakin' of puzzles, you ever help your peeps do puzzles at home?  Now THAT is not borin' at all.  Personally, I like to hide the puzzle pieces which, when you think about it, is like turnin' a puzzle into two games in one.  One is the puzzle itself, and the other is like a hide and seek searchin' kinda thing.

The best part of helpin' peeps with puzzles is when they have it almost all done, but can't find those last couple pieces.  You know, the ones you hid?  Then the peeps ask, "Seville, do YOU know where those puzzle pieces are?"  And you answer, "Nope, not a clue.  Missin' puzzle pieces is a puzzle, for sure."

Yeah, that last bit really is THE BEST.  MOUSES!

Although...

Although truth be told, it turns out that peeps don't find the searchin' for the puzzle pieces to be all that fun, I have found.

At least they don't find it as fun as I find watching 'em look.  MOUSES!

And for the record, while searchin' for puzzle pieces, peeps will sometimes use words unsuitable for the innocent ears of kittens like me.  Of course, that doesn't stop me one bit.  I ignore what I hear which, in all honesty, isn't a lot, for it's hard to hear peeps cursin' while you're rollin' around on the floor laughin' your tail off, you know?  MOUSES!

But fun with puzzles aside...

The fact remains...

I am STILL bored.

*sighs*

I suppose I could go smacky-paw a fur-sib.

Or hork up a hairball and watch the peeps jump up and run.

Or knock some stuff of the counter and see how much of said stuff is breakable.  That's always a fun game to play.

Or I could always make patterns with kitty litter on the bathroom floor.  That might add a little excitement to my day.

Or maybe...

Maybe I'll just sit here.  Just sit here and sigh.  Sigh, plaintively, 'til the peep finds me somethin'
to do.

Somethin' FUN, that is.  I'm not - I repeat, NOT - doin' any more of her chores.

Yeah, I think that if I sit here and sigh loudly enough, FOR LONG ENOUGH, she'll figure somethin' out, for sure.

*SIGHS*

  1. Since you are supposed to sleep 22 hours how do you manage to be bored in the remaining 2 hours? Try looking out the window for birds, or nap before you get too tired from being bored.

  9. We're bored too, Seville. The weather has been awful, with constant rain for months, and so we can't really enjoy our cat run. Napping is great but there are limits, right?
