seriously

PEEPS.  Ya can dress 'em up, but ya can't take 'em out.

Hmmm...  Scratch that.

In the case of my Peep #1, the opposite holds true.  You can take her out, but you can't dress her up.  At least you can't trust her to get herself dressed properly. MOUSES!

You are NEVER gonna believe what my first peep did this time.  MOUSES!

I know, I know...  You're thinkin' Peep #1 was out and about, cavortin' around town in her nightie.  AGAIN.

Nope, she wasn't doin' that.  Not this time.

And to be perfectly honest, I've never known the peep to go out in public wearin' her jammies.  In the garden?  Oh yeah, she does that.  But never out on public streets.  At least on on busy streets.  At least not durin' daylight hours.

Of course, there was that one time I heard about...  Way back when...  Before I was even born...

But I think that was Hallowe'en.  MOUSES!

I have heard though, some peeps wear their jammies out in public on a regular basis.  Shoppin' and the like.  Apparently, for some peeps, EVERY day is Hallowe'en.  MOUSES!

Anyway...

So anyway, yesterday, the peep was walkin' through a parking lot when she cried, "Oh no!  I'm wearin' blue shoes!!  MOUSES!!!"

Yup, I know she said it 'cause I heard her and everythin'.  I'm pretty sure everybody did.  Everybody for miles and miles around.  Perhaps you did, too.

Let me explain.

Normally, blue shoes aren't a big problem.  At least not accordin' to the peep.  Personally, I wouldn't know as I'm a cat, and as everyone knows, cats don't wear shoes.  MOUSES!

As a cat, I don't wear pants either, and that, my friends. was the problem the peep had with her shoes.

You see, the peep was wearin' forest green pants. Yup, green pants with blue shoes.  MOUSES!

I shall endeavour to explain further.

Peep #1 has two pairs of shoes which are absolutely identical, except for the fact that one pair is navy blue, and the other, is black.  The peep thought she was puttin' on her black shoes before she went out but in reality, she was puttin' on the blue ones.  And from her reaction when she saw those blue shoes peekin' out from under her forest green pants, the combination was not what she had intended at all.

Serves her right for leavin' her shoes in my office, and putting 'em on without turnin' on the light.

And did I mention how the parking lot was fifty kilometres away so there was no opportunity for her to come home and change?

Well ALL DAY LONG, other peeps were starin' at my peep's blue shoes, that clashed so terribly with those forest green pants.  They were pointing at the shoes, and pointing at the peep, and snickering to themselves, and some even laughed out loud.  Right in her face!  They were mockin' Peep #1 as a mockingbird mocks whatever mockingbirds mock.  Say that three times quickly. MOUSES!

Some of those peeps even took pictures.  Yup, took pictures of Peep #1's shoes, to post on-line, so they could mock her some more, whenever they liked.

Well...

Well that was what the peep thought they were doin' but in reality, I'm not sure anyone even noticed those blue shoes next to the forest green pants, although...

Although if they had noticed, they would have been mockin' her, for sure.

The peep was feeling so self conscious 'bout those shoes, she even went into a store, secretly hoping she might find another pair of shoes in a more respectable colour.  But she had no luck, I'm afraid.  MOUSES!

She did, however, find a pair of pants in a lovely shade of light chocolate brown.  And they were on sale, too!

But did she get 'em?

NO.

And why?

Because accordin' to the peep, she had nothin' to wear with 'em.

SAYS THE WOMAN WEARIN' GREEN PANTS WITH BLUE SHOES.

MOUSES!

I mean, SERIOUSLY, the blue shoe - green pant combo wasn't the best of ideas, but that didn't stop her from wearing 'em together.

MOUSES!

  3. Our mom says navy blue is a neutral and there is nothing wrong with combining navy and forest green. Had your peep had on one black and one blue shoe that would have been an entirely different story. Our dad went to work like that a couple of times; though, in his case, it was one brown and one black shoe. But things like that don't bother guys...right? MOUSES! 5. hehe, peep has done that, and in the end bought new shoes rather than not buying the new pants. Took so long deciding on what style, peep could have come home and changed both shoes and pants! purrs ERin PS maybe your peep should keep spare shoes and pants in the car?

  6. Nerissa, you are a hoot! From what I've seen your peep would fit in fine at Wal-Mart wearing PJ's, but more to the point, she probably didn't attract much attention with her green shoes. (Well, maybe a few glances). A lot of drama for a small thing, but it did give you good material for your blog. :)

  9. I don't know why humans worry so much about which colour to wear with what. You don't see us cats worrying about it!

  10. That is a funny story. I never notice anyone's shoes so I am sure most don't look. If she wants to feel better, she should go to Walmart where she is guaranteed to see those people in their pajamas and so much more.

  11. Seville dude, just tell peep #1 that the old rule of 'blue and green should neffur been seen' in fashion terms was outmoded years ago when the runways of the top designers started putting those two colours together - HIGH FASHION - so your peep was actually rather cutting edge but sadly that phrase taught years ago has stuck, I know this because the P.A. used to be exactly the same until one day she thought 'fluff all that nonsense I'll wear the sky and grass colours together and who cares and one day I will dye my hair pink!' Tell your peep, there are no rules in fashion anymore, be free in your choices and be happy to be different! WOOOO HOOOO! IT'S TIME FOR THE FASHION FREEDOM MOVEMENT! MOL MOL
