I got a job!

That's right....  I GOT A JOB!  Okay, the pay isn't great.  Actually...  I'm not getting paid anything at all.  Hmmph!  Got to do something about that, I think!

I got the job 'cause of my peeps.  Peep #1 asked me, "Do you want the job, Nissy?" and I did so I got it.  Some people might call that nepotism but I call it catatism.  No...  not cataclysm!  That would be a bad thing whereas catatism is a good thing.  Okay, it's my own made up word but I figure I'm not the world's first kitty to make up words.  And as long as they're apropos...  Catatism is similar to nepotism with two very big distinctions.  Firstly, it only applies to cats.  Secondly, it's good and not bad.  Hmmm...  maybe I mentioned that part already.  But the point is, I'm not getting paid so the question must be asked...  who else is gonna do it?

But anywho...  I am now, the official news correspondent for the Friends of the Valley Waag Animal Shelter.  It's pretty neat stuff, I think.  Whenever the peeps have something on the go to make some money for the homeless kitties at the Valley Wagg Animal Shelter, I will be the first one on the scene with all the breaking news.

For instance, just recently the peeps did that Easter Dinner Basket & Knitted Cat draw thingy.  I was the one who told the whole world all about how much money they raised and who won it.  Yeah...  they put my words on the shelter website...  not the peep's or anyone else silly like that.  No...  it was all me.

And by the way, just so you know - in case you didn't read my article on the VWAS website - they raised $3,549.12!  That's a lot of kibble, let me tell you.  About half of that came from ticket sales but the really nice people at Scotiabank, Greenwood not only helped with selling those tickets but they also matched all the profits.  Yeah, they gave the shelter this huge, gigantic, enormous cheque worth hundreds and HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of dollars.  Wow!  It was quite the sight to see.  Actually, if you go onto the website, you CAN see it.  Peeps took pictures.

And I should mention...  the draw was won by a dog.  Yup...  you heard me...  a DOG won the basket.  Could you believe it?  His name is Willy.  Willy is a beagle.

But back to me.  So as I said, I am now a real, live, news correspondent.  I'm like Anderson Cooper!  Hey...  I just thought of something...  people call him a silver fox and I'm a sterling silver tabby...  coincidence?  I'll let you decide.  That's what we news people do.  We dig up all the facts and let the public draw their own conclusions.

  25. And you know what??? If you play your cards right, maybe Anderson Cooper will hear about YOU and then you can be the first Feline Catporter on CNN! I mean, c'mon, they NEED some diversity! They're so speciesist! Aren't all their repawters Humans or sumfing?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ooohhhh.... wouldn't that be neat? I wonder how I can make this happnen... I think CNN is speciesist. I've NEVER seen a cat reporting on that channel and the peep does watch it quite often. I could do a little segment every now and then on AC360. What do you think?

      Delete
    2. I think they could rename that show--AC300/N60. That's what *I* think. Catporting: An idea whose time has come. Who better than our boy Anderson to ge tthe ball rollin'!

    3. Hmmm... wonder how we can make this happen... Are there any special laws you could enact? You being King and all...

      Delete
    4. It is to laugh! Enact laws, indeed! Laws? The King does not trifle in "laws"--He issues COMMANDS and DECREES which his subjects defy at their peril.

Sadly, we have no lawn from which to gather dew. Nor rosebuds. Alas, only the bleak gray cement. Hmmm. Perhaps there's a decree for that....
